Year 11: Standard and Extended

Two courses, both leading to the IB Diploma. Extended covers everything in Standard and goes further and faster, mostly in algebra and functions.

Calculators. Graphing calculator optional. Every lesson works by hand first, with an optional With a GDC section to open.

Extended is the usual preparation for Analysis and Approaches; Standard prepares well for Applications and Interpretation. Which course a student takes is the school's decision, made from more than one piece of evidence. Each list shows the units in teaching order, with a dot in the colour of the unit's main strand.

The two courses

Standard Describing and comparing data, trigonometry and circle geometry, sequences and proportion, sampling and correlation, and a final unit that faces the Diploma.

  2. Right-angled triangles and circle geometry
  3. Sequences, formulae and proportion
  4. Sampling and relationships in data
